The SCHAUBERGER Original® Funnel is a real eye-catcher and made of high-quality materials: hand-blown glass, solid wood, and copper – exquisite handcrafts from Austria. This makes it possible to swirl water as it is found in natural flowing waters. The spiral movement from outside to inside is quintessential. The beautiful air vortex that becomes visible in the middle leads to an increased surface area of the drinking water, which, among other things, results in increased oxygen uptake. This funnel is a durable and sustainable designer piece “Made in Austria”, inspired by nature.

History & Development

The vortex is a fundamental form of movement in nature. It can be found in flowing waters, in whirlwinds, in plant forms, animal horns and galaxies. In natural rivers and streams, the preferred mode of movement of water can be observed very well. You can recognize countless different flow patterns, including large and small vortexes. The water moves in a spiral from the outside to the inside.

Walter Schauberger

The forester Viktor Schauberger (1885 - 1958) saw the vortex as a basic principle in nature and therefore followed his lifelong guiding principle in his early years: “Understand and copy nature”.

His son, the mathematician and natural scientist Dipl. Ing. Walter Schauberger (1914 - 1994) searched for a form in which the water could be optimally rolled up as in nature. He also drew inspiration from Pythagoras and Johannes Kepler. They were convinced that our universe follows harmonious principles. With the help of his mathematical calculations, Walter developed the shape of the hyperbolic Schauberger funnel together with engineer Maximilian Mack around 1970. This was the first time he created a model with which he could imitate and clearly explain processes in nature. The Schauberger funnel is therefore the result of many years of research.

And this continues, as universities are now devoting themselves to scientific research into the original Schauberger funnels. Current studies relate to oxygen uptake, flow velocity, pH value, etc.

Order and Shipping

Shipping in Austria free of charge, within Europe € 25. All other destinations have different shipping fees and for safety reasons the wooden frame is shipped overseas in two parts.

For each funnel sold, we donate € 5 to current nature conservation projects and € 5 to Walter Schaubergers’ Archive.
